Engineering Technician, Quality

ABOUT THE ROLE

Perform inspection on materials and parts. Process non-conforming production line materials. Maintain necessary documentation. Perform and document first article inspection of prototype or new supplier qualification parts. Assist in Quality Control (QC) investigations. QA Engineering Technician reports directly to Quality Assurance Manager. 

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Actively engages operations teams/personnel to identify issues in production and seeks to understand root cause. 
  • Actively pursues continuous improvement of systems and processes to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
  • Inspects production materials/parts items procured/manufactured to Precor Engineering drawings.
  • Processes non-conforming materials/parts using proper QC procedures.
  • Input engineering and part data into standard databases and spreadsheets for tracking and analysis.
  • Performs first article inspections for new incoming parts and new internal part qualifications.
  • Maintains quality records as necessary to monitor key performance indicators 
  • Uses and maintains a wide variety of inspection tools, which would include calipers, height gages, micrometers, etc.
  • Other job duties as assigned

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Associates/technical degree preferred, Bachelor’s a plus
  • College level courses in Quality Assurance/Control or mathematics a plus.
  • Three years of Quality Inspection experience required.
  • Must be able to use and understand mechanical inspection tools/gages.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Fundamental knowledge of GD&T is required
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude with ability to use caliper, micrometer, height gage, optical CMM, contact CMM, bench center and other measuring tools. 
  • Must have good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Good math skills are preferred.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience working in the Quality field in a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate, full experience in Windows interfaces.
  • Basic knowledge of reliability for manufactured products is required.

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • World class manufacturing methods
  • Use a variety of computer programs / systems, at an advanced level, to track results (databases, SAP, Word, Excel, Email, Internet, Minitab, etc.).
  • SAP knowledge a plus
  • Manufacturing practices, principles, procedures, and regulations
  • Total Quality principles

Ability to:

  • Anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Develop vision, strategies, tactical plans and performance measurements and metrics to monitor results
  • Interact effectively at all levels in the organization to accomplish goals
  • Effectively communicate ideas (through oral and written presentations)
